OK, The first thing that you have to realize is that it is very expensive to produce any video game. The big reason why software developers produce games similar to major popular video games is to maximize the possible market. I have been developing a game based on the same engine used for many popular football games. I have been writing the code independantly for almost a year now and i'm about half-way finished. Hopefully there will be a game publisher willing to take the risk on it.
