SAW: Squad Automatic Weapon. Carries lots of ammo, fires fast, with little concern for extreme accuracy. OK. Well, I want to make a paintball SAW. IT would need to have a larger than average paintball capacity, and have a decent center of gravity. Would need easy, high RoF, and a mid-length barrel. Modeled after an M-249, possibly with a bi-pod. To accomplish this task, I propose a new bolt system. The details of this are available with diagrams via E-mail. The loader would not be gravity fed, it would be force fed. something similar to the AT systems magazines, or the Warp Feed. I'm hypothesizing that a rubber belt, not unlike a timing belt would do to job. This would lift balls up into the chamber. An electric motor would drive the belt, and would be controlled by the trigger, making the gun somewhat electric. Unlike a Warp-feed, the system is balanced in the middle, and would be much cheaper, being intergral, and controlled by a trigger, meaning the systems are unified, not independant systems like a traditional revy, and warp feed. Would a gun with a 15 bps+ speed, and a 300 round below-marker design be plausable, given the internals are working?
