New swab idea

Not sure if anyone has tried this one before. I have a 12" barrel with a 10" extension, so I realized that I would need a new swab as my old one was only 14". I was going to use a dowel with a swab on the end, but I remembered that I got a shotgun cleaning kit not being used. I stuck a .12 guage swab on the end and viola. It not only squeegies the barrel, it also dries it, all in one pass. Have to pull the barrel off to do this, so it's not nearly as fast as a straight shot, but it's much faster than squeeging and then swabing. Only problem, you have to pull the swab off the end of the stick after you push it through, otherwise it will put the paint back in your clean barrel. whole thing takes me about 20 seconds to pull the barrel, swab it, and get the barrel back on. |
