: i need a suggestion on a laser sight. are there any laser sights i can buy? or is it better to just stick a laserpointer on the marker. I DO NOT WANT A LECTURE ON THE DEPENDIBILITY OF A SIGHT. iknow that a sight really doesnt work, but i dont want a sight, i want a targeting sight. i have a very accurate barrel and all i need i a little bit more help with targeting.

FoxWalk is dead on correct with his answer. There are no laser sights (or laser pointers for that matter) which the manufacturers say are safe to shine at a person's eyes. They all include federally required warning labels about the dangers of eye damage that goes with them. This is considered OK for firearm sights, because the potential eye damage is nothing next to the damage done by the bullets the laser is aiming.

The red-dot sights are a great alternative. ADCO's got some at pretty reasonable prices. If you're willing to spend a bit more, Armson and DYE make some great red-dots that are much more durable and compact (and don't need batteries, but do need daylight to work.)

See you on the field,
-Bill Mills
