Interesting...but wouldn't the blowback gas hit the paintball first? pushing it back before the gas had time to riccochet the ball back down? then again, maybe the velocity of the ball is much slower than the gas riccocheting action...? anyways, thanks for your input.

: @@@ On a typical right feed gun blowback occurs when firing. The CO2 will push the paintballs slightly back up the feed tube, so they won't fully feed by the time you fire again, and the partially fed ball is chopped by the bolt. This most commonly occurs with open bolt blowbacks under rapid fire, when one can outshoot a hoppers ability to feed paint.

: By forcing the paint to make the right hand turn on a powerfeed you use the force of the blowback gas to riccochet the paintball into the breech. So rather than being blown back up the feed tube the paint hits the powerfeed and riccochets in. So I guess the term "power" might be using the CO2s own power against itself.

: : Speaking of which...does anyone know why they are called "powerfeeds"? I mean, is there something going on which acts on the paintball which helps it feed?

: : : Hopper fit can sometimes be an issue with verts. Tapeing or sanding sometimes comes into play.
