I don't think they are a necessity, it will work with other pods. The speed pods are nice is some respects, like not opening accidentally, but they are not air tight so you can't leave your paint in them for extended periods. I've seen a few of them break as well. I used them for a while but went to 140 rnd flip tops just so I could leave them in the pods at the end of the day till next outing. Hope it helps. Razor : i just ordered a JT Slammer Harness and was wondering if i should also buy the JT Speed Pods. I have been told u dont need them and also told u do...so any input would be greatly appricieated thanx
