Don't bother with your safety. All the parts will get lost in a hurry. Are you tapping from the side without the star? If you are, just hit harder with a punch. It'll come out. Tell that pin who's boss. "Who's your daddy, trigger pin?! Yeah, ME!" That'll scare it, and it'll fall out. Or you could try the method I told you about. But it is more fun yelling at it.
