: : I'm just getting into paintball... I like it a lot, but I don't want to spend a fortune on a marker...

: : here's the deal; a good friend of mine is offering me a Spyder TL in relatively good condition, along with a hopper and some goggles, for $100 bucks. I should also include some of the upgrades he has made:

: : a regulator for nitrogen
: : a dye sticky grip
: : a JandJ barrel (I don't know what kind; rifled)

: : good deal? not good deal?

: : I have no idea

: seems like a good deal, but check the internals for wear, go and play with it for a weekend, get to know it first. spyders can sometimes be finicky. if not a spyder, a tippmann anything is a very robust paintmarker.

I wouldn't buy a tippman. too much plastic. although i have heard good things about the A5, I have no confidence in the reliability of a plastic marker.
