Does anyone else here ski or snowboard? If you do, what is the worst injury you've ever gotten that is directly related to it? Im at the beginning of a really really nasty one. I was snowboarding, and I was on the race course at the local mountain. The nos of my board dug in and I went over. I kept going, but the board didnt, and seeing as the bindings I ride are super stiff and designed soley for racing, My Tibia and Fibia snapped. The tibia slightly shattered just above my ankle and the rest of the bone was displaced about 4 inches behind my calf muscle. Apparently the nerve was also damaged during this, since I now have no feeling in the sole of my foot. My tibia was broken about 3 inches above where the Fibia was broken. They had to do 2 surgerys and install 2 pins just below my ankle to stabilize the bones while they heal. Good luck on the field. -The wounded snowgod- |
