I've found that red dots (Adco hotshot is a good one) work best for me.
Right now I have a 3-7 zoom shotgun scope mounted. I use it mainly to check armband color in scenario games.

I didn't use the scope at all yesterday -- and got 2 OSOKs (both were gun hits). When I'm up against semis, I mostly snap-shoot, anyway. Unless they're Newbies; then I can ignore their first 2-3 shots and take the time to aim carefully. ;-}
