: I need someone to explain to me, in technical terms, why a phantom is more accurate than a flatline. I break balls (no pun intended) on a 9 inch pie pan at 200 feet. I'm not bragging, I just want the best gun available.

First, as someone already stated (or inferred), there is nothing magical or special that makes the Phantom any more accurate than any other marker. Most people who own Phantoms, or almost any pump, really, tend to learn to be more accurate shooters. When another ball is more than just a trigger pull away, you try to make the most of the one that's chambered.

From what you're saying, though, you have no reason to complain. I find the 200' thing a little hard to believe, but accuracy depends on so many variables that I'm sure that range and shot pattern is perfectly possible if the planets are in the right alignment. But, to be honest, if those numbers are accurate, I don't think you're going to find any other marker out there that'll do any better shooting a legal velocity. In other words: if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
