Most people would say that it is just a myth>>> My scientific point of view looks at the pressure movement--Forward only(as opposed to the acuracy of a projectile flying at 300 fps ect. in other reviews). With a Closed Bolt system, no gas is waisted or re-directed to cock the bolt (In a Pump, You do that), and therefore a closed bolt system will be more efficient=accurate.
>>>(Plus from a visual and performance stand point, I notice that the Paintballs fired from a closed bolt system will travel apporxamently 1¼ seconds longer in flight--assuming one used proper and equal paint. This can equal one of two tings, either the distance of paintball will be a few meters longer than a open-bolt counterpart(?), or the reliability of the shot will be improved upon aginst wind resistence. . .Could just be a Phantom though?
