Siphon in cold (sub-freezing) weather = good!

: Liquid = Bad. Anti siphon = good. siphon = bad

When it's all of 20 degrees out, liquid is sometimes the only way to get a decent velocity. I've my Phantom on liquid many times with great results. The only down side is that liquid is harder on the cup seal, so make sure you have a spare or two on hand...or just flip it over if it starts leaking.
