Obviously I'd go with the Phantom. Have owned one for about 4 years now. I could go into all the great things about the Phantom but I won't. I will hit a few highlights.

1) Obviously it's a great marker. Reliable, accurate, ready to go out of the box, needs little maintinance, is rugged and is a gas & go (that is it requires no tinkering).

2)This part applies to you. If you're wanting to play stock, but don't have a bunch of friends who play stock, the Phantom is easily adjusted. You can switch back and forth from CA & Hoppers to Stick feeds & 12 grams. I bought mine as a VSC, but hated the way I shot it (imagine no shoulder stock, pumping and rock and cocking). My shots were all over the place if I tried/had to shoot quickly. And playing against smeis w/ CA is challenging, but should be reserved for the mightiest of paintball heros. I quickly converted to hoppers and CA.

Something that lands inbvetween stock and open play is what Ben "Pump Scout" Kohen has been encouraging for years. Instead of using hoppers, use 10 round tubes. Elbows are easily modified so that the tubes fit snuggly. I love playing this way w/ semis or my Phantom. The fact that you have to be concious of your ammo and how many shots you've fired AND having to reload often add a whole new twist on the game. I absolutley LOVE playing this way.

Well, hope this helps. Let me know if you need any clarification.

: i want to get into stock because i think the one hit one kill is way better than just shooting as fast as you can until you hit someone. if any of you could please tell me what gun is a good stock gun to start out with it would be helpful
: thanks
