Personally, I remove the spring on the pump arm. It makes for a lot easier and smoother stroke. I did not like it without the spring at first but now I have removed the springs from all my Phantoms (I have 5). After playing without the spring for a few weekends, you will wonder why you did not remove it sooner but you have to give yourself a while to get used to that new setup. I also do not tighten the nut on the pump arm, I simply screw the arm all the way into the pump handle and then leave the nut snugged with my fingers. I find that the arm binds more if you tighten the lock nut on the pump handle. As for the play in your pump, take it apart and check what is worn. It may be the pump arm or the hole in the bolt, though I doubt it is the bolt because it's case hardened...

: Except my pump stroke seems to not go forward all the way. . . I need to Jamm it in the last 1/8"(which has to be done quite percisely otherwise I'll chop especially at Snap shots). . .I've tried to adjust the Pump stroke Hex but then with more tension I get less CLEARANCE to load (using Marbs and Super Swirl). . .Me thinks I need a new pump spring but one with more tunrs rather than being stretched out (which I tried to no avial and had to compress it back); any Techies?
