I recently added an Express Phantom to my arsenal and have been getting more than a few breaks when fired. I know that it's not chops but seems like the burst of CO2 is breaking the balls. My newer Phantoms with the TPC (Tuned Port Comp) adjuster diffuses the blast whereas the old style power tubes hits the ball with a solid stream of CO2. I am using PMI Premiums and tried Stars but have been experiencing 1 in 10-20 break when firing. Tried lowering the velocity to 260 but still get the breaks. Is this normal? Anyone with similar experiences? I know upgrading the bolt/power tube will probably prevent this but trying not to spend $ because I bought this hoping to resell it at pretty much my cost to one of the kids that frequent our field in hopes of teaching them playing skills rather than spray and pray. We play pumps agains semis to show them that it is technique, not rate of fire. We usually win...
