I've never played with a sniper 2, but I own and swear by my phantom (by cci). All the reviews I've read rate the two about the same in terms of preformance (and both are acclaimed as the cream of the crop of pumps). However, the phantom is much less expensive if you're on a budget. I've also never heard people speak as well of a paintball company in terms of customer service as they do of cci, although I've NEVER had a problem with my phantom in the 5 years of rough play I've had it (and it was a 4 yr old used gun when I got it). Hope this helps. And good choice switching to a pump!

: I am pretty much a semi auto only player as to date but would like to look into pump action sniping. Does anyone know a good gun for sniping and what types of upgrades i would be able to put on it??
