I don't think that the temp reading is inaccurate, but that the variations are a factor of being outside (sometimes in the sun, sometimes in the shade) and the fact that the sensor is in the grip. Usually, the outside temperature is measured in the shade while the temperature sensor is inside the gripframe held in your hot sweaty hands. :)
