What do you mean by better? Accuracy? For the most part, bolts don't effect accuracy unless it imparts a spin, then it effects it negatively. They can make it quieter or louder (as you've noticed). They also can make it more or less efficient - for example, replace the 'venturi' style stock bolt with one that has a large, central hole and you'll find your velocity ~20fps higher.
