Angel 2000 LCD wont go live - temperature fault

 Marker would not go from safe to live. Fault was a temperature fault. Temperature was 15~20*C on the day. Marker is now operational but a temperature check shows 42C! There is no way that that is the temperature as it is again less than 20*C. Any ideas
