Ok the moment ya'll been waiting for has come!

I just bought my A4 and shot 2 cases of paint through it and did several tests for the board here at PB nation. I'm going to first describe what I did and then how the angel compares to other markers on the market.

To fill you in on what I do: I've been an Angel tech for 2 years, working on the side whenever I can. I've owned 2 cockers, 1 timmy, 1 matrix and 7 angel's including the A4. I've been playing airball or speedball tournament style games for a few years now and only play that sort of game. In terms of this test, the only thing you need to know is that I've owned 5 LCD's 1 IR3 and this new A4!

The marker:
Its a blue/green marker, which is what WDP calls "blue" and its very pretty. The barrel is stock 14" and its very light, much more so then the LCD or IR3 stock barrels.

I was surprised buy the weight and how small it was. It was very different then the IR3 or even speed, which I've used before too. It feels good in the hand, though the trigger is very odd.

The trigger is pretty fun to tinker with, but it does not work good when dry firing, when in the game the marker works great because your pulling the trigger differently under stress.

The box also comes with a few volumisers, standard speed charger, barrel and extra o rings and such. Standard nice WDP packing, which makes it worth getting new!

The test:
I had 3 hoppers, Halo TE, Evvy 2, Revvy Xboard (old skool).
I had 3 markers, 2003 Matrix, Angel LCD and A4
I had 2 types of paint (one brittle and one not brittle) Zap and tork

HOPPERS:
The first thing I did was throw my halo B on the marker with the most brittle paint I could find; low end zap. I filled up the hopper and with my stupid PMI screw-in tank (borrowed for the time being) it shot 24 BPS with no paint chopping! I did it twice and not a ball chopped. Mind you the sensis system was OFF!

The second thing did was throw on the Evvy 2. This hopper had fresh batteries and I figured it would perform the same as the Halo. It worked well, there were a few spots where balls did not come out, but it did not chop, sensis system OFF!

I decided to turn the sensis ON and it shot every ball, no chop!

The third thing I did was put on the Revvy. After setting the sensis system I threw on the Revvy and it worked well too! NO CHOPING! I was completely amazed!

By the way, the Revvy and Evvy both chopped almost EVERY ball with my 2k3 matrix! The only other marker the Revvy worked on was a timmy that we had sitting around! That truly means that the sensis system IS working!!!

ACCURACY:
Now everybody knows that the most accurate marker is a cocker right? Well that's not the case anymore, but its been told by SOO many people over the years people still believe its true! In my experience pretty much every marker on the market is somewhat accurate.

The first test I did was simple. I set up each marker on the chrono and did a simple test.

2k3 Matrix with 16" barrel and Nitroduck air system (pretty accurate) 276,279, 274, 274, 279, 275...

2k3 Angel LCD with stock barrel and PMI tank (pretty much the same) 292, 290, 287, 290, 284, 296, 298, 296...

2k4 Angel A4 with stock barrel and PMI tank (different) 297, 297, 296, 292, 297, 296, 299, 297..

Basically its none of the markers were very accurate with that zap paint OR the stupid PMI tank. I will be doing further tests on this. But so far, thats NOT BAD!!!

ON THE FIElD:
I went out and shot all 3 markers and found some interesting results. Based after some knowledge that I know on barrel matching, the Matrix test does not count because it is a PERFECT setup! The LCD and A4 have not been tampered with and were stock.

Using the HALO B TE for the tests and the same configurations with Zap balls and PMI tank

The matrix was dead on balls accurate! Every shot hit the same spot every time from across a standard X ball style field.

The 2k3 LCD was a bit off, but not bad. I was able to chop though! that stopped that game. After 1/2 a game, it had chopped so much that had to stop the game and leave!

The 2k4 A4 was very different. The groupings were more to the tone of a timmy then of the matrix. I will blame that on the barrel and the air system.

So far pretty impressed I was...

UNTIL!

I was playing a game and all of a sudden the stupid thing stopped shooting! Like STOPPED! BAM! The breech door would not open either! HMM... I've seen this happen before when LCD's chop REALLY badly, the bolt can get stuck forward. Mid game, I pulled off the barrel stuck my finger in the breech and pushed the ball and bolt back and that allowed me to open up the breech door. TO my amazement there was a LARGE ball stuck in the breech!

So what happened was simple: The ball would not go forward into the barrel due to its size so the bolt COULD NOT push it any further! It did not retract and try again, it just stopped in its tracks! What that means is great! THIS MARKER IS TRULY LOWER PRESSURE! In an LCD that ball would have been chopped several times! After a quick fix, I was able to continue shooting and actually won the game!

PAINT:
OK, everybody knows that BAD paint does not work well. I can say right now that the A4 performed MUCH better then I could ever have expected! I was amazed at how every paint I tried, it shot w/o any problems with the sensis system OFF at all times! I was unable to try hard paints, but to be honest, if the brittle paint works fine, the hard paints should be MUCH better.

REVIEW:
This is the first marker WDP has made since the LCD that will change the industry. Its light weight, well built and its just a good ol time! It has text messages that come up after you put it on safety. Some of them say "24 BPS, WOW YOU MUST HAVE 6 FINGERS" others say "YOUR SUCH A GOOD SHOOTER, YOU MUST BE ON DYNASTY" and so on! they are fun to look at after you play and they also tell you your BPS w/o having to go into the menu. The new lower pressure design was the best thing ever! The soft touch bolt ACTUALLY works and so does the new grippy neck! My Halo B was never shaved down and it fit PERFECTLY! It was fast, light and accurate and DID NOT CHOP A SINGLE BALL! My Matrix is just as fast and it would chop every once in a while!

THE BAD:
Ok, they always have to screw up on something? This time it was the trigger. Now its a nice design, well thought out, but to be honest, its overkill. Most people adjust there trigger and leave it alone. This time they decided to add on the external adjustments. It works well, but when you go to lock down the adjustments, they move. Big deal, it takes 30 seconds to realize that and to make the corrections. What my beef is and most other peoples beef is that the trigger is to dam hard! Remember the first impulse that came out? It was a HARD trigger, well this is 1/2 as hard, but its still HARD! on the field your fingers get worn out from shooting on such a hard trigger. I've played with it to try and make it better, but it never was soft! I like my triggers to have almost no pull and no spring. This trigger can have no pull, but the spring is always there. So forget about pulling the spring and forget about trying to make the trigger soft, it just ain't happening.

FINAL WORDS
For the $1399 MSRP price, its probably in the same ballpark as a high end timmy. WDP must lower the price to allow people to buy this killer maker. Everybody who saw it and shot it tonight was AMAZED, even the other Angel owners and Timmy owners. Everybody wanted one by the end of the night and if the price was like $999, they would sell. The other thing is that this marker has some excellent new tech that I have no time to talk about here. This is probably the best manufactured marker EVER due to the fact its pretty much fool proof and there is no need to do any maintenance like a matrix or even timmy. Drop one drop of love juice on the hammer after playing and your all set! Don't forget the shocker, matrix, impulse, cocker, timmy, bushmaster, tipman, spyder and pretty much every other marker on the planet, need constant lubrication, beyond ONE DROP!

If your thinking about buying a new marker and have the money to spend on the BEST, this A4, in my opinion, is the best thing on the market for the following reasons:

1) Size
2) Weight
3) Anti-Chop that does not mind paint type or color
4) Low Pressure
5) Accuracy
6) Status
7) Resale (because you always want a new marker)

So that's my testing of the A4. Please read this entire thing before asking questions. I don't have that much time to answer EVERYBODY's questions... Thanks for reading and drop me an e-mail if you have any related questions!
