As far as the hoses on the 3-way (or 4-way if you prefer that)...
You do need to switch the two outer hoses if you install your hinge. However, if you replace your 3-way with a Shocktech Bomb, a Dye PMP, or (I think) the new WGP CT 3 or Oracle, you'll have to switch them back!
These 3-ways operate differently from your stock and require the same hose switch to work. If you make both upgrades, the hose configuration will look unchanged (back 3-way hose to front of ram, front 3-way hose to back of ram).
