I did the same thing you did. But mine came out a little different. Some 200-250 psi (can't read it that well) but I have to turn in like 3 turns to get the velocity up. : They suggest the midpoint so that when you hit the sweetspot on the reg you can adjust up or down (velocity). Personally I started with it all the way back when I sweetspotted the reg at a velocity of 220 fps (output of the reg is at 280 psi)then cranked the velocity adjuster in 1 turn and came out with a 280 fps +/- 4 fps using a stock WGP inline and an Orracle valve assembly with Orracle springs. Is there something better about the mid point? : : : When you sweetspot your reg you are trying to find the spot where you are getting the highest gas flow through your valve. Set the velocity adjuster to the mid point, then, starting with a low pressure, adjust your reg to where you get the highest velocity. (Beyond that point your velocity will actually drop as the higher pressure closes the valve faster). This is the point where you're getting the highest possible flow through your valve. If the velocity at this point is way too high, replace your hammer spring with a softer one. If the velocity is way too low use a firmer hammer spring. When you get close to your desired velocity, fine tune it with your velocity adjuster. : : : If you want to try to run at lower pressure, try a softer valve spring before you sweetspot. You will need to repeat the process ant time you change your valve or valve spring. : : : Hope this helps.
