although I love to tinker

if I was going to spend that much money on a new gun, I'd skip the parts and simply go for an Evolution Eblade cocker. They have always been one of the very top cocker builders, and this likely is the best one yet.
What they brign to a cocker that you and I, and even palmer cannot, is madhouse skill and experience. They're perfectionists. I love palmer's work, but I believe (without having shot either gun enough to truly say KNOW) that the evolutions are better than the palmerized. I have shot both, so Im not just talking outta my buttt. But in truth that's just my opinion.
