It just unscrews and is self contained so no springs will go flying. Some are rebuildable others are not. To clean parts, I like to soak them in alchohol for a bit & then wipe them clean (I use q-tips for some parts). After they dry, you could use a small touch of oil to make it work smoothly. I personally like the Eclipse detent which uses a piece of rubber with a 'nib' instead of a ball bearing with a spring behind it. The nib works great and is easier on your bolt. |
