I'm a big fan of Nitrogen.

CO2 is an obsolete technology for paintball.

CO2 is 'dirtier' than Compressed air or nitrogen.

Nitrogen should be your FIRST upgrade.

But I have to jump in here and say that the Cocker was / is designed to run off CO2. Years ago and there has been no design changes that would make it favor Nitrogen that I am aware.

Yes, Nitrogen will work BETTER. Noticeably better.

The stock reg is designed to run off CO2 and is excellent running nitrogen.

You can clean DIRT out periodically and suffer no ill effects other than arguing with someone about it. (hair splitting opinions) Dirt is BAD. Clean is GOOD. Keep it clean with N2 OR CO2! All you need to know...

SUMMARY:

If you want to go play with it using CO2, go right ahead. It won't hurt it if you clean it internally every 5-10 cases of paint.

CHEAP TIP: Get the clear pneumatic hoses. When they get where you can't see through them, it is PAST TIME TO CLEAN THE INTERNALS.

SHAMELESS PLUG:

I have 30 feet left of clear green Buna hose. The good stuff with a 300 psi burst pressure rating. Fits easily over both size barbs. No 'hats' come with it.

$10 for 10 continuous feet of hose. Just cut the length you need and no more. Lifetime supply.
