Dale do you remember PCRI's Paintball of the Year Reports? They measured on the seam and on the axis and you're measurements are very silmiliar to what they used to get.
The average for the best balls were .03 cal difference found in the old proballs.
That was one reason they were thought to be such bouncers, that the strength of the better orb helped keep them from bouncing.
Marbs were averaging .08 difference, but only on one axis, the other axis was closer to .06 average.
I plan on doing a similiar test for a magazine I've been writing for.
It's a good point that you make, and what we might be looking at is a larger bore insert with a ball detent, though that in theory would defeat the gas mileage part...
But Dale, you do bring up an excellent point and observation.
