Will let you know this weekend. Because I think I might have found a solution on my end.

Was going through my parts box and the stock hammer rolled into view. Looking at it's sear lug I found that it was quite squared. I opened 'er up and sure enough, the sear lug in the aftermarket hammer was a hemisphere. So I swapped the lugs out. With no gas it's difficult to tell for certain but now it's catching every time. I'll fill the tank up this friday and see if it holds true under power as well.
