Well, let's start with the wanna cocker checklist
1) Are you mechanically inclined?
2) Do you already know anything about a cocker?
3) Do you know anyone who does?

As far as E-bay, you frequently are buying someone elses headache. Unless you already understand how everything interacts, or want a crash course and quite a few hours of headache, screaming, confusion, and a bald patch where you've pulled your hair out, I'd go with brand new.

That being said, it takes a while to truely understand how everything interacts, regardless of how much you read, understanding will not truely come until you do. Once you understand that fully, a cocker is simple. But it sure is nice to have a working model to play with for awhile before the "User induced failures" crop up.

I have talked people through timing a cocker, start to finish, but it is not really a fun way to have to learn.

: should i buy an autococker on ebay and try to find one with a tank with it or should i buy a brand new one with a new tank?
