: : : Not to be obnoxions, but my orracle is just as loud as a piranha, is this normal? I appriciate any input!

: : : Thanks,

: : What is your operating pressure? Have you sweet spotted your reg? Stock barrel?

: I have no clue what my operating pressure is, I have sweetspotted the Front end regulator, but I have not messed with the Black Magic yet. Should I? How do you find what pressure you are running at? I am using the stock barrel. Thanks so far for the help!

I would definantly sweet spot the Black Magic reg. Sweet spotting it could make it quieter, but not only that, it will make your marker more efficient. This is how I do mine and again, everyone has their own opinions on this and cockers in general.

Set the velocity screw about half way, then I turn mine counter clockwise a couple turns to lower the velocity even further. Turn the reg all the way down. Then slowly crank it up. You will have virtually no velocity at first. Keep turning it up and as you turn it up the velocity will hit a peak then start actually going down when the pressure gets to high. When you find the peak velocity, I turn mine down about a 1/4 of a turn. Others like to leave it right at the peak, but I found with my 2002 set like this. I can shoot about 2100 shots off of a 88/4500 running at 170 PSI according to my dye gauge. (No guys, I don't have a broke gauge on it, but my paintball friends including my wife pick on me saying that I glued it there).

If that does not work to quiet it down, a new barrel would maybe help. I cannot talk about experience on that though same with the valve. Rat 3:16 are great valves, but getting the right spring combo can be a bit of a pain. I have never shot the Orracle barrel or valve. I highly recommend a Freak kit, or DYE boomstick. I just picked up a barrel called a Demon for $15 off ebay. I figure for that money I'll give it a shot. I'll let you know in the post above yours if it is any good or not.
