Well switching to a loose barrel improved it a lot. Getting consistent velocities anyway at 190 fps but it is still honking.

The thread for the Rainbird solenoid has the same pitch at a 3/4" pipe. Not tapered so It wouldn't seal. So I epoxied a 3/4 pipe to 1/2 pipe fitting into the hole and epoxied the vent that goes into the pipe shut inside the main body rather than the cap body.

Re - Drilled out the regular diaphragm hole where the epoxy and fitting bottomed out. No room for a larger bore there so I drilled two .125 holes into the cavity just below from the diaphragm cavity. So I have a total of .350" in diameters combined vented into the fitting area in the cap and that is vented to atmosphere out a air gun valve.
