Here are some pictures of my latest. It is made from 1 1/2" PVC which happens to be the same bore as the M79

This gun operates on unregulated CO2 and requires a full machine shop to create the valve.

Don't worry too much about getting a perfect seal on your pump. The amount of air that can be lost means almost nothing. Depending on the type of valve that you use, the barrel presure is very small as well, so if you weaken it the biggest problem you have is dropping and breaking the PVC. Please make sure you have an idea what your barrel pressure will be before making any modifications to the barrel though, cause it can get dangerous depending on your design.
