: I bought a 4500psi tank and I have not been able to fill it ONCE in full! Where I live there isn't a single field with HPA fill station and all the scuba tanks I've found (including the one i bought) are around 3300psi. Is there any other way? Will a nitrogen tank make any difference? Or do I have to stick with 3000psi in a 4500psi tank? : Thanx!! Nitrogen can be had from industrial air suppliers in 2200, 4k, and 6k - but the higher pressures aren't cheap. You'll also need a fill station with a regulator. Option 2 is a booster, which is boosts lower pressure (like 2 or 3k) upto 4500. The booster is driven by another source of air (compressor, med pressure HPA, or CO2). IIRC, boosters run $800-1000. A compressor will run $3000-10,000 - so it's only good if you have a field or store. If fact, most of these options are only good if you're filling more that your own stuff. One last option, is a SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) system that is used by firefighters - my friend has a small one and it works pretty good to top off after you've fill with SCUBAs to 3k Tom |
