Impulse on/ off valve

I just ordered an impulse and it will be here in 3 days and i have everything that i need except on my c02 i dont have an on / off valve i know i should get one and i will but i am just corious if i use it for like a month, prolly only like 3 times, would it be ok without an on /off ( meaning not doing and significant damage to the gun thank.
