: Range....
: A ball travels based on the forces that act upon it. WHATEVER happens in the barrel of the gun... open/closed, pump/semi, mech/electro, american/english/canadian/australian... only matters in the barrel.
: Whatever happens there determines the speed at which the ball leaves the barrel. Once the ball leaves the barrel the gun has NO effect on it. It cannot magically reach out there and touch it and effect it.
: So... if you are chronoing your gun at a point past the barrel (which all chronoes do). You get a speed rating of the ball's flight after it left the barrel.
: So, you have a ball that has no clue what gun it was shot from, flying through the air at say 290fps. ALL balls of equal weight, flying at 290fps, traveling at the same angle (not angel) will go the same distance.
: Spin MAY be able to increase range at very high spin rates, at a sacrifice of accuracy most likely, but no gun out there can demonstrate those kind of spin rates, and none of the high end guns out there even try.
: So... debate accuracy as you will until someone posts a TRULY scientific gun to gun test.
: Range? There are websites where people went out to test it, and guess what they found? Physics works. All guns had the same range +/- 2% (BTW - in the best test I saw the shocker had the shortest range of all, it was just a numeric fluctuation... range is determined by fps and angle)
