Installing LP Kit

I am trying to install the LP kit, but when I go to put the receiver halves back together, they don't fit just right- there is a tiny space between them. The valve assembly fits in fine, but seems to be too big for the spaces in my gun. Has anyone else had this problem? I don't want to file away the internal areas to get it to fit. Also, has anyone had problems with the screws that hold the receiver halves together where they don't actually fit, or just turn with not actually screwing in? Any info is much appreciated.
