Some tanks just don't work well on some guns. I've never experienced it myself, but I've sure seen it. It has something to do with the pin valve on the tank, and the pin depressor on your ASA. If they don't like each other, you'll get exactly what you described.
Just one theory, I could be totally wrong! :)
