yeah, the valve has channels to allow air pressure to flow back into the "hammer tube". kind of inefficient, i guess considering that air can also move freely around the front bolt, and possibly out of the gun via the cocking knob slot and the feed elbow. the model 98 is said to be an efficcient pneumatic open bolt gun though. A low presure kit can make it more so efficient by lowering the mean operating pressure from 750-850 psi down to 300-350 or so, but you'd have to by a stabilizer or regulator though. an ebolt would increase effeciency too, but that is not its purpose. on ebay a lp kit sells for $60 and an ebolt(electro-pneumatically operated bolt) is around $160. I have the lp kit and an ebolt on the way, and I know some of the parts become redundant if you have both.. but a spare OS (operating system) is a good thing to have. any way, my prefered email is ace_at_mind@yahoo.com if maybe i can help you with more questions.
