Grant it, they are all mods for existing game engines. And, of the two, only one is in production. Which is HalfLife Paintball. It went away for a bit as the main coder had RL issues however, he finally released the code to the loyal core of fans who are now planning a total remake of the game. The markers are actual markers even if they need a bit of tweaking ; ) The other is a mod that is under development for the Unreal Tournament 2003 engine. They are in the middle of a name change on the project so I'll not mention it until that's solid but, from what I've seen it's going to be glorious! The third is one that's for the QuakeIII engine. This one doesn't use real paint markers but generic ones the team made. Forget the name but I can dig up the link if you'd like. Oh and I forgot, another HalfLife mod that was being worked on was called Digital Paintball. Not sure how far along it is tho. There is also, if you are really desperite(sp), a game called Digital PaintBrawl. Which isn't terrible however, it's not what I'd call good either. I've also seen another one in stores that looked MUCH better. With fog FX and better player models. It wasn't the DPB brand either. Looked like it was based on the Q2 or 3 engine. But I can't recall the name and I've only seen it a few times. The games are out there. They just aren't as popular. And remember that unless you are going to make your own game engine, it means doing a mod for another game engine. Or if you plan on making it a full game, for sale, then you have to purchase a copy of the game engine. And that is VERY expensive (the UT engine used to be $150,000US last time I checked in 2002). Not to mention the team you have to pay, etc etc. Personally, I'm looking forward to the mod for the Unreal Tournament 2003 engine. That should be VERY good!
