Building a paintbomb with electronic trigger

Does anyone have any info or know-how on electronic timers and switches? I am starting on a big bomb for "The Fire Fall Objective" and will be rigging it with a count down timer. What I need is a board with a countdown display and a key pad that a code can be entered into in order to halt the countdown. I will have to configure a housing once the layout of the components is done. I have a keypad with a solenoid and 6 digit display already so I could just use a countdown timer with an on/off switch. The timer needs to flip some sort of switch in order to fire the detonation for the bomb load. I would consider paying someone with the knowledge to build what I need.
