shutter: air not bypassing valve body

nOOb on board...please gimme an idea of how to repair a spydr shutter. the air flows freely from c/a adapter thru the vertical adapter(low press). but when fitted back on housing (where cupseal/valve and valve body are) air gets trapped. the striker wont retract. the rings are new and they unit is cleaned and oiled.
thus far the only advice i got was:
step 1: walk to the trash can
step 2: throw it away
step 3: purchase ir3 fly
LMAO...please help me w/ any suggestions.
