: The reason for this is that you have to have power to your cigarette lighter. Unless you have one of those power plugs, you'll have to have the car on.

: : : Start the car. Plug the charger into the cigarette lighter, plug the charger into the IR3. Turn the switch to "On". It should start charging and showing your a cascading charge bar in your battery slot. Once it starts doing this, turn the car off... it should continue to charge.
