: i'm thinking of getting a cocker but am worried about the maintenance. My friend has had one for about a year and said he knows enough about thenm to do basic maintenance but hasnt had to time it yet. Is it possible for a cocker to go that long without needing to be timed? I've heard that many of the times when somehting goes wrong it is self inflicted by messing with it. How much maintenance is there and what is it? Any help would be appreciated. Also, what else might a new cocker owner or someone thinking of getting one might need to know? Thanks
