Are you using an adjustable or lp tank?

My guess is that you're either running a LP fixed output system air system(450psi) or an adjustable that's set at 500-600psi.
I had a similar problem with my AA Messiah. The actual problem was that the pressure in my gun would creep up to my tank pressure (adjustable set at 600).
What I found out from AA is that the Messiah (and I would assume the Vig) requires a min input pressure of 750psi to operate consistantly (out put can be set anywhere from 0-500psi).
Their explaination is that they use a large diameter piston & spring which requires a higher input pressure than small diameter regs, but will be more consistant in their output. After adjusting my tank I've had no problem.
Hopefully your problem is as simple.
