OK i had a similar problem when i put a hinge on my 96. if i would pull the trigger slow...the lug would slip over the sear. if i let the trigger pop back...it would catch. after cursing...breaking things...and actually throwing the gun...i sat down and thought about it. my ram was coming forward before my sear had enough time to come up and catch the lug. what i had to do was lengthen my timing rod a hair. so that my lug was higher when the ram would start its closing cycle. hope that helps. remember slides and hinges work backwards when it comes to the 3-way.
