some rams have less friction than others. less friction means more of the force generated can be used for it's purpose intended, instead of wasted on friction.

the minim rams actually have 10-32 threaded ports.

if you want to get picky, then the smaller cylinder used at a higher psi to get the same amount of force as a larger cylinder, is actually using a bit less air due to the density of air. but it is a minut amount.

there is absolutely nothing wrong with the performance of the stock ram, it's just heavy and brass, which is not popular.
