It's very simple, but nobody wants to hear it. The answer is to get rid of high-capacity hoppers. Think about it. Instead of 200 round agitating hoppers, you use 10-round tubes. ROF would become meaningless, unless you want to blow your wad in under a second, then spend the next 15 seconds frantically reloading (shades of the old SMG!). Movement, thinking, and teamwork become the hallmark of the game. You could continue to use a flag format, and even the small fields. This would probably be a tournament thing only, since rec play involves shooting at more than just your 10 opponants. In fact, I firmly believe this is the kind of thing the Olympics could look at and justify our presence in the Games. The problem here is that paint companies, I'd think, rely on high paint sales at tournaments to move their product, and you'd have a heck of a time getting the "pros" and assorted other tournament players to set aside their hundred dollar motorized loaders.
