as we all know it would never fly with the players. I think an easier way to change it would be format, and making the fields huge wouldnt work in making the game mainstream, it might be fun for some people (im assuming you mean speedball cuz there are many woods fields that are gargantuan) but it wouldnt work for spectators too well, unless they like massive open combat. I think reformatting, a different version of capture the flag maybe?
