And then there are players like me who came from a "better gun with longer range and more precision", moved to an Angel, realized the whole "angels are fast but are only any good at close to med ranges" was bunk.

Any high end marker shooting the same velocity, with a good barrel, which releases a consistent ammont of gas at a consistent pressure, will have comparable range and accuracy. A nice Matrix, Angel, Excalibur, Cocker, Timmy will perform similarly in the range and accuracy respect.

From that point on it is about preference. Want mechanical, go cocker. Want a bit more speed? go electro. Which one feels better? How is the build quality/ruggedness? Size? Price? Looks? LCD? Features? Disasembly? Local techs? Customer service?

The Angel is not the greatest marker in the whole wide world. It is not right for every one.

But I also know about the power of observer error. Lock down markers in a vice. Use the same model barrel, the same paint, the same gas system, shooting at the same velocity. Run some tests, get some real data. Then I will belive.

: Take it easy man, A lot of players gets overwhelmed when using an angel for the first time, but in the long run they tend to give it up for a better gun with longer range and better precision. Angels are good for short to mid range application, but if you wanted a gun that can deliver a tighter shot group at longer ranges while rapid firing, I would not recommend it. In fact I know some well known amateur and pro players who are or has sold their angels to go back to a cocker, excalibur or a matrix.
