BKO or verticle cocker

I'd like to buy a new marker but I'm torn between the WGP verticle cocker or the BKO. The BKO is much lighter and I love the smooth way it operates. The guys I play with all have cockers and say they shoot farther, but I don't believe them since basic physics should dictate that all markers should shoot about the same distance since the ball travels at 300 FPS. Anyone find this true or not.
